Massage Therapy Services

Full Body Massage
(Swedish)
Massage has direct psychological and physiological benefits. Physically, massage increases metabolism, hastens healing, relaxes and refreshes muscles, and improves the detoxifying functions of the lymphatic system. Massage helps to prevent and relieve muscle cramps and spasms and improves circulation of blood and lymph, thereby improving the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the cells as it enhances the removal of metabolic wastes. Since blood carries nutrients to the skin, massage is beneficial in keeping the skin functioning in a normal, healthy manner. Massage Therapy is effective in pain management in conditions such as Arthritis, Neuritis, Neuralgia, labor and Delivery, Whip-lash, Muscular Lesions, Sciatica, Head- ache, Muscle Spasms, and many other conditions. Psychologically, massage relieves fatigue, reduces tension and anxiety, calms the nervous system, and promotes a sense of relaxation and renewed energy.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a holistic healing technique. The term 'holistic' derived from the Greek word 'holos' which means 'whole'- and as such aims to treat the individual as an entity incorporating body, mind and spirit. The art of Reflex foot massage must not be confused with basic foot massage or body massage in general. It is a specific pressure technique which works on precise reflex points on the feet, based on the premise that reflex areas on the feet correspond with all body parts. Pressure is applied to the reflex areas using specific thumb and finger techniques. This causes physiological changes to take place in the body, as the body's own healing potential is stimulated. Therefore, the feet can play a major role in attaining and maintaining better health.

Sports/Athletic Massage
Athletic massage enables you to attain your highest potential by accelerating the body's natural restorative processes, enabling you to participate more often in rigorous physical training and conditioning. Massage helps to reduce the chance of injury by identifying and eliminating conditions in the soft tissue that are at potential risk of injury. When injury has occurred, massage helps to restore mobility and flexibility to injured muscle tissue, while reducing recovery time. Athletic Massage can improve your ability to perform while reducing the incidence of lost time due to injury and fatigue.

Pressed for time?
How about a chair massage?
This stress reducing, rejuvenating massage is done in a supported, seated position with the clothes on. Chair Massage is an abbreviated massage usually lasting about 20 minutes and is well suited to a short, relaxing break in a busy, hectic day. The massage chair allows the recipient to relax as the Therapist massages the back, neck, shoulders, and arms.

Approximate time: 20 minutes
