Madison Avenue Total Image Salons

Hi!  I'm Jeff, your online host and resident makeup artist.  Welcome to The Gallery, a showcase for some of Madison Avenue's best, most creative, and most beautiful work.  No, you won't be seeing any 6 foot tall models with silly hairstyles that you would never think of wearing in this lifetime.  Instead you'll see realistic hair styles and makeup application for today's women.  Real women, just like you.

In 1991, when I opened our first salon, Madison Avenue Hair color & Design, I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted it to be, aside from a great place to get your hair done.  But I knew what I didn't want it to be.  I didn't want a cold, impersonal, or phony atmosphere for our clients, mainly because I didn't want to attract cold, impersonal, phony clients to our store! And I absolutely refused to have tacky pictures of perfect models with ridiculous hairstlyes on the walls.

No.  Instead what I created, with the help of the best staff on planet Earth, was a cozy, comfortable, unpretentious yet elegant space, with beautiful artwork by Van Gogh, O'Keefe, Monet, Dali, and other favorites.   And I vowed that if a photograph of anyone would take up space on our walls, the hair and makeup had to be done by us.  Otherwise what's the point?

Our first set of photos to grace our walls were from our first major magazine layout.  You can see some of them online in our Newsletter: Broadway Issue .  We had a lot of fun doing the photo shoot, and for the first time some of our best work was immortalized by a truly wonderful photographer, Robert Milazzo.  Now to me, the next step was obvious:

Hire my own photographer and do a photo shoot
with OUR OWN CLIENTS right in the salon!

So here they are.  A bevy of beauties transformed before your very eyes... sort of.  Click on the "before" pictures to the left and you'll get the idea.  And I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed bringing them to you.

Thanks for visiting The Gallery, and a special thanks to all our lovely "models" who graciously lent us their time and their faces.  It was most appreciated.

And who knows?  Maybe you'll see YOUR pictures in The Gallery one day soon!

Hope to see you soon!

Jeffrey
